Story Behind the Song

The first time I hung out with my husband in Nashville, he said something that stuck with me... "it's like I'm waiting for God to drop a sticky note out of the sky." I laughed because it was funny, but yet it was so true and so me.

I've caught myself not moving sometimes, because I want a sign from God before I do, just to make sure I'm doing the right thing. I might get one, but then I am confused on it's meaning, the list goes on. I'm not opposed to signs, I love signs, they help! However, I believe that as Christians, we need peace and guidance more than we need signs and good luck. We tend to say, if "A" happens I'll do this, but if "B" happens I'll choose this, and that's how we decide the course of our life or day sometimes.

We serve a BIG God. We serve a GOOD God. So many times I meet people who are so confused about their walk in life and what God is doing or wants them to do next. I usually tell them-Don't you believe that if God can speak human life into existence, He can speak to us about our next move? CERTIANLY! We don't need a wishing well to hope for good-one of the most quoted verses of the Bible is Jeremiah 29:11 "for I know the plans I have for you, they are for good and not for evil. Plans to prosper you and give you hope!" God has so much in store for us-when we listen and Trust Him-we'll began to have opened eyes to what it is!

Let me give you an example.

The moment before I walked down the isle to my future husband, my stomach was all in knots. The bridesmaids had already started walking down, and a feeling of nervousness and fear started entering in my body. I STOPPED. I knelt down and prayed. "God, if this is what you have for me, I need Your peace and I need it now! I need to know that you are walking with me in this decision. If you're not, I don't want to walk this way. Please! Give me peace."

It was the quickest and most calm prayer I think I've ever prayed in such a big moment. I didn't look for a sign or doves floating in the air, goodness if I counted on signs I would have been all messed up-as there was a hurricane sitting over Michigan and those doves would have been blown away. So guess what, the greatest sensation of peace I have ever felt or experienced in my life came over me-it was supernatural. My body and my mind had never been at such rest, even while sleeping. I can't even explain it-that is why I know it was supernatural.

When you want God and all of Him, no matter what it takes or what it means, I guarantee He will lead you and walk beside you-because you're going where He is leading. "Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened." Before this verse it says "seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." When you seek after God, you'll find H im, you don't need a wishing well or a fairy god mother-although having a cake appear before me right now sounds pretty good! :o) When you have Jesus you have everything-because He is Everything. He is I AM.
