These days, I stumble over my confidence
These days I can hardly try
This way I'm living w/out my common sense
That you gave me, that you gave me, that you gave me
And I've been out all night
Walking the streets
I'm simply Searching for you
Should I pray or should I scream
Savior can You hear me, Calling out Your Name now
Emmanuel Hosanna, Can You hear me sing
Savior can You hear me, Crying Hallelujah
Shouting to the heavens, Can You hear me sing
Can You hear me sing
Most nights I have no comfort I have no peace
Most nights I can barely dream
These walls Won't let me go give me some release
Can You save me, can You save me, can You save me
When I think that You're not hearin' me
It's because I am not listening
So open up my heart and ears So I can hear Your voice
Savior I can hear You
Calling out my name now
You're Emmanuel Hosanna
And I will always sing
Savior I can hear You
I'm Crying Hallelujah
Shouting to the heavens
I will always sing
'Cause You can hear me sing

There was a point in 2007 when situations seemed to keep going wrong and getting worse in my life and in my family's, that I wondered what God was doing and where He was in all of it. My husband (who was my fiancé at that time) and I were walking through so many difficult things many couples never experience or at least not at that stage in the relationship. I wrote a song once that said… "I have no peace, I have no comfort, all my hope is gone." I was constantly begging God, begging for change. Change in me, change in the situation, change in hearts. And…nothing….
Nothing was changing, or so it seemed. It was not easy. The only thing I knew to do was continue to read, pray, trust God, praise Him. One thing I realized-that I also must listen. I spend so much time asking God for things, talking to Him, telling Him things, I forget to let Him respond. I forget to listen about what He thinks.
I know He always hears me. He says in His Word that when we pray, He will listen. Plus, if God see’s us all the time, even in the darkest moments or normal routines like the shower-I’m confident that He hears us too!
In Psalms the writers continuously sing Praises to God because He has heard them-He has pulled them out! He has rescued them. He rescues us too. We can apply this in our day to day life as well. Have you ever been trying to find something, you've looked EVERYWHERE-and it's nowhere to be found. Then you stop. You pray. And a few moments later you find it!?! This has happened to me several times-more than I can count. Since the time I was little, I can remember story after story of God showing up when we ask for Him and showering His blessings. He is a Good God. He cares about everything. Even the things we think are minute in our life-He cares about. I know people who say that they don't want to bother God with their little problems when there are so many other people in the world who need so much more or have it way worse than them. This may be True-but who are we to limit God and say His heart isn't interested in us? If He sent Jesus to die for us before we even existed-He has shown us His heart and that He does care. He WANTS to bless us! He wants to give us MORE than we can even think of! I usually will have at least one of these conversations a week at shows-it breaks my heart that people lose their trust in God because of the choices that other PEOPLE (not God) have made that have effected them. They think that God doesn't care, when truly He is always there and the only One that is always dependable. Sometimes it just takes us being willing to believe Him.

Hi Joanna! I'm doing well. Yes, God is soooo cool. You inspired me to sincerely pray about God's will in my marriage. I hadn't done that in years! God bless you, your husband, and your career! AND...thanks for being my inspiration. You really have no idea how deeply you touched my life!
