"Think upon THESE things..." (Phil. 4:8) has really got me "thinking" the past few weeks. Reading the Bible, it comes alive - God's word spoken to us.
The past few weeks I've found myself never stopping, never really breathing, not just physically but in my mind. I've noticed how there hasn't been rest, and that has transpired to my creativity and physical body as well. It's been stressing me out, I haven't gotten my work done for OasNet, Kerry's business, stuff at home, and most of all it has interrupted the time I "had" to work on my new record.
In Matthew 6:52 Jesus said the disciples didn't "consider" the loaves. The word consider literally meant "to put it together." They didn't put together all the other miracles they had seen with the thought that they were about to drown in the storm. If we can "put together" the times we've seen Jesus work in our lives, with the moments we need to see Him at work in our lives - wouldn't that build and edify our faith?
I love that in many passages in the Bible the word "Think" means "to meditate." It's like it all just flows together. Romans 12:2 is one of my favorite verses that Kerry and I often quote in our RESERVED ministry of encouraging kids to wait for sex until marriage.
"Don't be conformed to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the RENEWING of your mind."
We share how when we stop focusing on our problems, and renew our mind to the truth of God's word, when we think about HIM, His truth, His reality - our struggles become the ant hills that they really are instead of the mountains we see them as in the moments thru our flesh. Bringing me right back to Philippians 4:8 - THINK upon these things! Meditate on these things - let them become your focus. Let Christ become your focus. CONSIDER His truth! Consider what HE has done and the power we have in Him!
As I've been renewing my mind to these things, focusing on Him instead of my self. Letting Him be my strength to start AND to finish - I've seen such life these past few days! Finishing songs, finishing work, spending time with my loved ones - enjoying my birthday (which is today)! It's amazing how much HIS truth is REAL. And it can become our truth too. :)
"For all things are possible to Him that believes- (and HE BELIEVES) - all things are possible with GOD!"
