"Every decision is a seed planted" (-Joyce Meyer) is a quote that I believe sums up 2009 and my goals for 2010.

God has shown me through His Word, through books (The Travelers Gift by Andy Andrews), and many teachings and life lessons (some not so bright), that ONE choice can change the world-makes you think about taking the easy way-or the hard, yet more impacting road. "The Road Less Traveled" has been something that I've had to continuously choose daily.

Sometimes I wonder what the point is in "New Years Resolutions" because we seem to make them, commit for 2 weeks and then forget, backslide, etc... However, these Goals, these ambitions, are something we use to help focus our lives, the directions we are going-where God is calling us and the steps we are taking to get there.

These "goals" or whatever you choose to call them, are useful, but I've realized that sometime we seem to "do" and never seem to just "be" with the Lord-which is what He created us for-relationship with HIM! It seems I'm always trying to DO something for the Lord that I forgot that what I'm doing is for Him and by Him and authored by, perfected by, Him-such good news. I think that if I choose what seems more difficult-I'm doing (there's that word again) something important, making a decision that plants a seed.

It has truly refreshed me to know that decisions are important-but time with the Lord is what we're made for. I know that my brain and muscle memory still haven't quite caught up...we'll see what happens in 2010~
